Racing Incident Report

CAPITALAND and TOY QUEST were slow to begin. POCKET MONEY, which became fractious as the start was effected and at the time was being assisted by an attendant, was slow to begin. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, BRILLIANT ONE was steadied when tightened for room inside MULTI MILLIONS which itself was steadied away from the heels of ALL TIME HIGH. Making the turn after the 1200 Metres, FREEBIRD hung out. After the 1200 Metres, MULTI MILLIONS was left racing without cover. Near the 400 Metres, BRILLIANT ONE was steadied away from the heels of MULTI MILLIONS after being carried wider by TOY QUEST which at this time shifted away from the rail. At the 250 Metres, CLASSA WIN was steadied when crowded for room inside CARRY GOOD NEWS which after being held up and unable to obtain clear running was shifted to the inside of FREEBIRD to go forward. AWARD and TOY QUEST were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of AWARD after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, TOY QUEST was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart beat and an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being permitted to race again, TOY QUEST will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. POCKET MONEY, SOLAR POWER and CARRY GOOD NEWS were sent for sampling.
