Racing Incident Report
SURVEY SURVEY was slow to begin. ROYAL PRINCE began awkwardly and lost ground. At the 250 Metres, SILVER SUN was steadied and shifted in to avoid the heels of TIBER which at this time was steadied when crowded for room between FIRM OFFER and HIGH INTELLIGENT which got its head on the side and shifted out. Throughout the race, GOLD STRIKER travelled wide and without cover. M W Leung (SILVER SUN) reported shortly after the start he was struck in the face by a clod. D Whyte (SUPREME GAINS) explained near the 300 Metres he took hold of his mount as he was aware SURVEY SURVEY was improving quickly on his inside towards a run on the outside of GOLD STRIKER. He said as he took hold of his mount, SURVEY SURVEY shifted out and bumped SUPREME GAINS, causing his horse to lose further ground. GOLD STRIKER, SATURN and SUPREME GAINS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, GOLD STRIKER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had sustained a cut to its right hind leg and had lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of SATURN and SUPREME GAINS after the race did not show any significant findings. ROYAL PRINCE and GOODY were sent for sampling.
