Racing Incident Report

VICTORY PARK began awkwardly.
SMILING TIME began only fairly and then was hampered by INTREPID WINNER which shifted out.
From the outside barrier, S J TOURBILLON was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
RISE BRETHREN was also steadied shortly after the start to obtain a position closer to the rail.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, PERFECT MARYKNOLL was slow to muster speed and then approaching the winning post on the first occasion raced in restricted room between WINNING DRAGON and TOTAL POWER. PERFECT MARYKNOLL was then left racing wide and without cover near the 1600 Metres and was allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead after the 1000 Metres at which time TOTAL POWER was left racing wide and without cover.
As VINCY (V Borges) attempted to shift out from behind INTREPID WINNER near the 1200 Metres, VINCY and RISE BRETHREN raced very tight as RISE BRETHREN maintained its position. When racing very tight, VINCY and RISE BRETHREN bumped, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced and VINCY having to be checked away from the heels of INTREPID WINNER. In this incident, V Borges became badly unbalanced. As the Stewards were of the opinion that this incident resulted from VINCY attempting to shift out and RISE BRETHREN maintaining its position, no further action was taken.
Passing the 600 Metres, WINNING DRAGON was bumped by SMILING TIME which improved into tight running between WINNING DRAGON and VICTORY PARK.
Approaching and passing the 500 Metres, RISE BRETHREN became unbalanced as that horse was bumped by INTREPID WINNER (R Maia) which shifted out to obtain clear running. R Maia was advised to exercise care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
TOTAL POWER made the Home Turn awkwardly.
Near the 150 Metres, INTREPID WINNER shifted out away from TOTAL POWER and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of RISE BRETHREN.
A veterinary inspection of WINNING DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of WINNING DRAGON, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING DRAGON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of SMILING TIME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
INTREPID WINNER, NORDIC SKY and FIVE G PATCH were sent for sampling.
