Racing Incident Report

On jumping, SAVVY CHIC was bumped by RED LION which shifted in, resulting in SAVVY CHIC then shifting in and making contact with WINNING ICEY which was crowded in onto HARMONY N BLESSED. WINNING ICEY and RED LION were then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
CALIFORNIA CIBLE jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
From the outside barrier, DINKUM also jumped awkwardly and was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
SCIENCE PATCH blundered soon after the start and became unbalanced.
On the Home Turn, SAVVY CHIC was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY EIGHT.
CALIFORNIA CIBLE raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and lay out making the Home Turn.
Near the 100 Metres, DINKUM attempted to improve into a narrow run between SMOKEY BEAR (V Borges) which shifted in slightly and NAMJONG SINGS (C L Chau) which, after shifting out slightly, was then placed in restricted room to the outside of HERO STAR (M F Poon) which also shifted out slightly, resulting in DINKUM then having to be checked when disappointed for this run. The Stewards found that the minor shifts of SMOKEY BEAR, NAMJONG SINGS and HERO STAR were the reasons for DINKUM having to be checked but were satisfied that the shifts from the respective runners were of a minor nature and therefore Jockeys V Borges, M F Poon and C L Chau were all advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
A veterinary inspection of SCIENCE PATCH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of HERO STAR immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained minor lacerations to the left hind stifle.
SOLID IMPACT and LUCKY EIGHT were sent for sampling.
