Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was positioned close to the heels of SNAFFLES as that runner shifted out. Over the concluding stages lay in and then proved reluctant to shift to the outside of BEAUTYVERSE when that runner was taken out slightly by HAPPY TOGETHER. |

| 5 | 6 | CHING (G380) | When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, L Hewitson stated that on straightening he endeavoured to shift CHING out to secure clear running to the outside of BEAUTY LIVE. He said CHING was somewhat reluctant to shift out and also did not respond immediately to his riding and as a result he was unable to secure clear running at that point when SNAFFLES shifted to the inside of BEAUTY LIVE. He added that as a result CHING was then held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres where it secured a narrow run between MOMENTS IN TIME and BEAUTY LIVE. The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Hewitson were reasonable in the circumstances. |
