Racing Incident Report

1 13 WINNING DATA (H230) Passing the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from MR ALADDIN. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 2 ARIEL (G223) Bumped shortly after the start. Approaching the 100 Metres became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by PERFECT PEACH which shifted out slightly and as a result became unbalanced and was obliged to be corrected by its rider L Ferraris. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 11 CHAMPION INSTINCT (H012) No report.
4 14 PERFECT PEACH (E488) Bumped approaching the 100 Metres.
5 7 MR ALADDIN (H386) No report.
6 3 DREAM PURSUER (G241) Lay in in the Home Straight.
7 8 SUPER WISE DRAGON (G475) Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with CHAMPION INSTINCT and became unbalanced.
8 4 DIVINE ERA (D507) As the start was effected reared and as a consequence lost ground. When questioned regarding his riding out over the final 100 Metres, K C Leung stated that inside the 100 Metres when he observed PERFECT PEACH shift in slightly after making contact with ARIEL, he then stopped riding as a precaution when he was concerned that PERFECT PEACH would shift in further. He said when PERFECT PEACH was then straightened, he was able to recommence riding near the 50 Metres. K C Leung was advised that, wherever possible, he should continue to fully test his mounts to the finish of the event with the appropriate vigour.
9 1 TOP TOP TEA (H048) When questioned regarding the performance, Z Purton stated that whilst his mount was able to hold an on-pace position, it did not travel comfortably and he had some concern with its action. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, TOP TOP TEA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 6 COMMANDING MISSILE (G210) Jumped awkwardly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 5 CLUB SODA (H312) Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded by CHAMPION INSTINCT which raced tight to the inside of PERFECT PEACH (Apprentice Y L Chung). Apprentice Chung was severely reprimanded and advised he must ensure he leaves sufficient racing room to runners to his inside.
12 9 KILLER INSTINCT (G020) Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded shortly after the start. After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that shortly after the start his mount commenced to buck and as a result did not stretch out and lost ground despite his efforts to ride it along. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, KILLER INSTINCT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial in raceday gear.
13 12 DRAGON PRIDE (D164) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 10 NATURAL GOLD (E402) Jumped awkwardly. After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount came under pressure after the 500 Metres and weakened in the Home Straight. He could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of NATURAL GOLD was considered to be disappointing as compared to its last starts. Before being allowed to race again, NATURAL GOLD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
