7 5 ESCAPE ROUTE (E273) Slow to begin. Near the 1300 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid LEAN HERO. Over the concluding stages was positioned close to the heels of MAJESTIC VICTORY which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 12 GALLANT HERO (E480) Shortly after the start raced tight to the inside of EIGHTEEN PALMS and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
9 9 INTREPID WINNER (G144) Jumped only fairly. After the race, K De Melo stated that with his mount coming back in distance to 1800 Metres tonight and due to the early stages of the event being run outside of standard, INTREPID WINNER was one-paced when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 8 UNIVERSAL HORIZON (G360) No report.
11 2 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, K H Chan reported that AWESOME FLUKE raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and finished the race off only fairly after making a wide run from the 600 Metres.
12 4 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WV S J TOURBILLON (G138) Withdrawn on 8.1.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter PRIME MINISTER. Before being allowed to race again, S J TOURBILLON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
