Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
1 12 MUGEN (H338) Whilst in the saddling stalls, MUGEN had its right front plate refitted. MUGEN was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Inconvenienced at the start. Rounding the Home Turn was held up for clear running and was shifted back in near the 400 Metres to gain an uninterrupted run to the line. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 11 SUPERB BOY (G335) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 6 ATULLIBIGEAL (G173) Slow to begin. Held up for a short distance rounding the Home Turn.
4 7 DANCING CODE (G365) Slow to begin. After passing the 200 Metres bumped with RED LION. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 1 RED LION (H115) After passing the 200 Metres was bumped by DANCING CODE.
6 2 HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE (H093) Inconvenienced at the start.
7 5 DROMBEG BANNER (H117) Shifted out and away from RED LION at the start and in doing so caused some crowding to HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE, MUGEN and to a lesser extent BRAVEHEARTS. A Atzeni pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 850 Metres (see FLAMING RABBIT).
8 4 FLAMING RABBIT (H257) A Atzeni (DROMBEG BANNER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 850 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of FLAMING RABBIT, resulting in FLAMING RABBIT having to be checked. A Atzeni was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 7 February 2024 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. Passing the 200 Metres was inconvenienced when bumped by SUPERB BOY which shifted in under pressure before being straightened by its rider.
9 8 EASON (G061) No report.
10 9 BRAVEHEARTS (H389) Slow to begin and then was inconvenienced at the start. Raced wide and without cover for the major part of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
11 3 SAUVESTRE (E315) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
TNP 10 GLOBAL HARMONY (G337) The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in whilst they considered if GLOBAL HARMONY had been afforded a fair start. On the evidence, it was established that as the start was effected, GLOBAL HARMONY stood in the barriers and refused to jump. As the Stewards formed the opinion that GLOBAL HARMONY had not had an unfair start, the horse was declared a runner. Before being allowed to race again, GLOBAL HARMONY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a series of consecutive barrier trials.
