2 2 CIRCUIT KINGDOM (CB046) A Marcus -- Began well and raced in prominent position 2 wide. After the 1000 M went forward to race outside the leader to straight. Responded well when asked 350 M out but was overhauled by the winner on the line to settle for 2nd.
3 3 ROYAL ARMY (CB103) T Mundry V Tardy start and soon recovered to race in midfield 2 wide. Switched out and made little headway at home turn. Responded well when asked 300 M out but hung in badly and just lost out to the 1st pair in a close finish.
4 7 SEASONS TREASURE (CB310) D Whyte -- Slow to begin and steadily recovered to race in midfield on rail. Rounding the home turn was shuffled back worse than midfield. All out 300 M out and ran on well but just failed to get into the placings.
5 1 GOOD HEART (CC026) P Payne -- Slowly away and soon raced in rearward position on rail. Switched out on straightening to obtain clear running. Under pressure 350 M out and made up steady ground inside final 250 M to be closest at finish.
6 4 SPINNING CITY (CB252) G Mosse B Broke fairly from wide draw and soon eased to the tail around 2 wide. Switched wide and made little headway turning for home. Under pressure 400 M out and made up little ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
7 12 HAPPY TOGETHER (CC218) M Zahra SB/SR Slow to begin and niggled along to race in better than midfield on rail through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 350 M out and kept on same pace to the line.
8 13 FOREVER WIN (CC069) C Williams B Broke well from widest and steadily eased to midfield around 2 wide through to straight. Kept on fairly when asked 400 M out but near the 200 M was checked when crowded for room. Became one-pace thereafter.
9 8 UPBEAT (CC347) S Dye B Broke well and raced in a forward position on rail. Around the 1100 M was allowed to stride forward to take up running to straight. Kept on fairly when asked 350 M out but steadily weakened inside final 200 M.
10 5 WISE CHOICE (CB297) O Doleuze -- Soon settled in rearward position 2 wide, and made little headway, rounding the home turn. Unable to go up a gear when asked 400 M and kept on evenly to the line.
11 11 STRATEGUS (CC050) F Coetzee -- Jumped awkwardly and ridden along to race in midfield or better 3 wide. Pushed along to maintain position at home turn. Kept on same pace when asked 400 M out and further weakened inside final 200 M. (Blood in trachea.)
12 10 ONLY YOU (CD210) R Fradd -- Broke fairly from wide draw and soon took lead on rail. Near the 1000 M eased back to race 1-1/2Ls off pace to straight. No extra when asked 350 M out and near the 200 M was checked. Steadily dropped out thereafter.
13 14 WIN FOR ABALONE (CD087) H W Lai B1 Slowly away and pushed along to race in midfield or better 2 wide. Around the 600 M commenced to ride along to hold position. Found nothing when asked 400 M out and steadily tailed out thereafter.
14 9 OPERATION HUMOUR (BV111) M W Leung SR Tardy start and raced in worse than midfield on rail. Overraced in the middle stages, near the 600 M hung out and checked away from heels. Tailed out in straight.
