9 1 PERFECT PEACH (E488) M Chadwick Over the final 150 Metres lay in, resulting in its rider M Chadwick changing his whip through to his right hand near the 100 Metres. After the event, M Chadwick stated that after settling back in the field as expected PERFECT PEACH found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight, particularly with the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 2 PERFECTO MOMENTS (J003) H Bentley Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running behind CALIFORNIA ICON.
14 3 SUPER BABY (G364) P N Wong (-10) Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping and became unbalanced. After the event, Apprentice P N Wong stated that her mount did not travel strongly during the event and when placed under pressure in the Home Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER BABY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
10 4 WISDOM STAR (J351) B Thompson No report.
7 5 JOYFUL LIFE (H426) R Kingscote No report.

5 12 MULTIDARLING (H148) H T Mo (-2) No report.
8 13 MORE RICE (H271) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly, shifted out, made contact with SUPER BABY and as a result lost ground. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, L Hewitson stated that after placing his mount under pressure near the 450 Metres he then elected to shift in to follow MULTIDARLING with a view to improving to that runner’s inside near the 300 Metres. He said his decision to do so was influenced by the fact that SUPER BABY and WISDOM STAR were not improving into the event and if he followed those runners his mount may not have obtained clear running. He added after improving to the inside of MULTIDARLING near the 250 Metres his intention was to obtain clear running inside JOYFUL LIFE but when that runner shifted in after the 200 Metres he was obliged to ease and shift to the outside of JOYFUL LIFE where his mount obtained clear running after the 150 Metres and finished the race off reasonably well thereafter.
