Racing Incident Report

Whilst proceeding to the Start, H K Yim was dislodged from LUCKY TIME. After the horse was caught near the Start, it was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and following the necessary consultations LUCKY TIME was passed suitable to race. GOLDEN PROMISE jumped very awkwardly. LEGEND STAR and TRIUMPHANT GLORY were slowly away. Just after the start, CONJURING was bumped between RARE COLLECTION and LUCKY TRIO. Rounding the latter part of the turn, EASY KING was inclined to lay out. Just after the 200 Metres, WYNDAM EASY shifted in slightly and bumped EASY KING. About 100 Metres out, WYNDAM EASY, which was giving ground, was steadied when tightened between EASY KING and CONJURING which shifted in. Also about 100 Metres out, LUCKY TRIO was steadied when disappointed for running between GOLDEN FARM and GOLDEN PROMISE. S Dye (LUCKY TRIO) said the horse came from the gates in his opinion satisfactorily and for the first portion of the race travelled as he hoped it would, but after the 800 Metres it appeared to be attempting to jump the kickback and in addition to this the horse was reluctant to keep racing. As a consequence he got much further out of the race than he had hoped. GOLDEN FARM, LUCKY TRIO, EASY KING and CONJURING were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Report from 9 October 2002 Race Meeting
The Club's Senior Veterinary Officer, Dr Brian Stewart, has advised when he examined LUCKY TRIO at the stable of Trainer J Size this morning, he noted the horse had multiple small cuts and bruising to the outside of its right fore cannon. He said the injuries are consistent with "galloped on" injuries which the horse would have sustained whilst racing last night.
