Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, C Williams (OPTIC DYNAMIC) expressed concern over the horse's action during its preliminary. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, trotted up and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. BROSE'S HONOR and FORTUNE GLORY were slow to begin. NAMJONG HEART began awkwardly and shortly after the start was checked when crowded for room between JUST VICTORY and TAMBORA STAR which was taken out by MISSION POSSIBLE which itself was taken out by OPTIC DYNAMIC. Near the 800 Metres, TAMBORA STAR was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of MISSION POSSIBLE. Making the Home Turn, BROSE'S HONOR became unbalanced and shifted out after initially being carried wider by BAYVIEW LAD. In the Straight, MISSION POSSIBLE got its head on the side and hung in. C Williams said he had been given clear riding instructions that he was to lead and if the horse was to be taken on, he should ensure that he does what he can to maintain the lead. He said OPTIC DYNAMIC began well, crossed to the fence in the lead and in the early stages had runners improving to his outside which meant he had to ride his mount along to follow the instructions. He said when JUST VICTORY dropped back from his outside near the 900 Metres, he was able to give OPTIC DYNAMIC a breather. He said because of the manner in which the race was run in the early stages, for him to carry out his instructions meant that he had to make more use of the horse than he would have wished. BROSE'S HONOR, MAESTRO and OPTIC DYNAMIC were sent for sampling.
