Racing Incident Report

GOLD MASTER began awkwardly and bounded in the air, as a result lost a considerable amount of ground. GOLDEN FARM and DRAGON HORSE were slow to begin. ALWAYS WELCOME began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall. Shortly after the start, CARRY THE NEWS was checked when crowded for room between PAOBRIDGE and NAMJONG TREASURE which was taken out by GOT IT GOOD which initially was taken out by DANHERO and then shifted out further on its own accord. After the 800 Metres, DANHERO became unbalanced after bumping with WINNING COUNTER. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, GOLDEN FARM was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of DRAGON HORSE. Making the Home Turn, NAMJONG TREASURE hung out. In the early part of the Straight, LIGHTNING BOLT got its head on the side and hung in and near the 250 Metres was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of ALWAYS WELCOME. Near the 200 Metres, CARRY THE NEWS was shifted towards the outside of WINNING COUNTER into clear running. After the 200 Metres, EASY KING was steadied when awkwardly placed on the outside of GOLDEN FARM and inside the heels of LIGHTNING BOLT. G Schofield (PAOBRIDGE) said the horse tonight did not begin as well as it usually does. He said he then rode along to go forward, however, it became apparent to him after the 800 Metres that the horse was not going to show enough pace to clear runners to his inside, he therefore elected to steady PAOBRIDGE and shifted in behind NAMJONG TREASURE to ensure he had cover. He said PAOBRIDGE then travelled comfortably in the run, however, after straightening did not respond to his riding and he attributed the performance to the fact that he had not been able to lead tonight. PAOBRIDGE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, PAOBRIDGE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. NAMJONG TREASURE, WINNING COUNTER and ALWAYS WELCOME were sent for sampling.
