Racing Incident Report
PEAK POWER began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall, causing Apprentice P H Lo, its rider, to become unbalanced. FORTUNE BOY was slow to begin, then shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of FREEBIRD. On jumping, LUCKY LAD shifted out and bumped BEETHOVEN. Also on jumping, LUCKY PARADISE stumbled. At the 1400 Metres, FORTUNE BOY got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of TRIUMPHANT MASTER. After the 900 Metres, PEAK POWER was bumped by PALETTE NATURAL. In the middle stages, EVER SUCCESS hung out. S Dye (PALETTE NATURAL) said despite having drawn an inside gate, because of the manner in which the track was racing, he was instructed to immediately take the horse back to the rear and then shift out well away from the rail and to ensure he made his finishing run down the outside. He said he rode it in accordance with those instructions in the early stages, was about six wide making the first turn on the outside of GREENMORE, he then at the 600 Metres allowed his mount to continue forward to prevent BEETHOVEN which was racing inside GREENMORE shifting out. BEETHOVEN, LUCKY PARADISE and PALETTE NATURAL were sent for sampling.
