Racing Incident Report
TOY QUEST was withdrawn on 20.11.03 on veterinary grounds (lame left hind). Before being allowed to race again, TOY QUEST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, A Marcus expressed concern over the action of AMBITIOUS TYCOON during its preliminary. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said it was lame in the left hind leg. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of AMBITIOUS TYCOON. Before being allowed to race again, AMBITIOUS TYCOON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PALETTE NATURAL, CLASSA WIN and ALWAYS WIN were slow to begin. PERFECT began awkwardly and got its head up. DYNAMIC FUN was slow to begin and then was ridden along hard to lead. After the 1400 Metres, PERFECT, which was racing awkwardly, got its head up and lost its position when being steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside ALWAYS WIN which was racing tight to the inside of LUCKY PARADISE. In the middle stages, ALWAYS WIN raced tight on the inside of CLASSA WIN which had its head on the side and hung in away from LUCKY PARADISE. After the 400 Metres, CLASSA WIN was steadied when disappointed for running between LUCKY LAD and LUCKY PARADISE. Near the 300 Meters, ALWAYS WIN was checked when disappointed for running between CALIFORNIA PRINCE and LUCKY LAD. For some distance approaching and passing the 300 Metres, SHANGHAI KING was held up and unable to obtain clear running behind LUCKY PARADISE and FIGHTING MASCOT and to the inside of PALETTE NATURAL. To obtain clear running at the 200 Metres, SHANGHAI KING was shifted to the outside of PALETTE NATURAL. Near the 200 Metres, PERFECT was steadied and shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIA PRINCE which was giving ground. Approaching the 100 Metres, DANEHILL WARRIOR was shifted out to obtain clear running and then for a short distance after this hung out. After the 100 Metres, DYNAMIC FUN was momentarily steadied when crowded for room by BEETHOVEN which shifted ground while hanging in. At the 50 Metres, ALWAYS WIN was momentarily steadied and shifted in away from the heels of DANEHILL WARRIOR. Throughout the race, LUCKY LAD raced wide and without cover. CALIFORNIA PRINCE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, CALIFORNIA PRINCE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA PRINCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BEETHOVEN and LUCKY PARADISE were sent for sampling.
