Racing Incident Report

On jumping, BULLSHOT stumbled. HAIL WINNER began awkwardly and got its head up. DOLBRIDGE began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. MISSION POSSIBLE was slow to begin. For some distance after the 1200 Metres, WATCH KING was obliged to race three wide when WE'RE BUDDIES shifted out away from the fence to race outside the hindquarters of PREMIER BURG. When racing three wide and without cover, WATCH KING proved difficult to settle. After the 900 Metres, GIDDY KIPPER raced wide and without cover, then in the Straight gave ground. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, MISSION POSSIBLE hung in. At the 600 Metres, GIDDY KIPPER was steadied away from the heels of SPEED WINNER which was carried out slightly when WATCH KING shifted ground. On straightening, WINMARK was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between HAIL WINNER and BULLSHOT. Shortly after this, HAIL WINNER was steadied when disappointed for running between SPEED WINNER and BULLSHOT (C Williams) which was shifting out in an endeavour to obtain clear running. C Williams was reprimanded and told to exercise more care. When HAIL WINNER was steadied, slight inconvenience was caused to WINNING ASSOCIATES which was following. After the 200 Metres, MISSION POSSIBLE, which was endeavouring to improve into a tight run on the inside of PREMIER BURG which was giving ground, was steadied when disappointed for running inside PREMIER BURG which was taken in slightly by DOLBRIDGE which in turn was racing tight inside GUSCOTT. Near the 100 Metres, WINMARK was steadied when unable to improve between BULLSHOT and WATCH KING which was giving ground. Over the concluding stages, WINNING ASSOCIATES hung in. GIDDY KIPPER and WATCH KING were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of both GIDDY KIPPER and WATCH KING after the race did not show any significant findings. DOLBRIDGE and WINNING ASSOCIATES were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported SPEED WINNER had lost its left front plate.
Additional Veterinary Report (released on 27 November 2003)
GIDDY KIPPER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. GIDDY KIPPER was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer T W Leung this morning and at this time was noted to have an injury to the left eye. Before being allowed to race again, GIDDY KIPPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
