Racing Incident Report
NOBLE WIND was a little slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was bumped by EVEREST which shifted out. CUPID was slow to begin. OLIVE OR TWIST was slow to muster speed in the early stages, shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between SHOW BRAVELY and VIPER CORP which was carried in slightly by EVEREST. Making the turn near the 1300 Metres, after initially being carried in by NOBLE WIND and racing tight inside that horse, EVEREST commenced to over-race and was steadied away from the heels of SMART WIN. When EVEREST steadied, SHOW BRAVELY, which was following, was steadied in consequence. At the 1100 Metre, SHOW BRAVELY got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of EVEREST. Over about the final 600 Metres, NOBLE WIND hung in. At the 250 Metres, EVEREST, which was commencing to close the race off, was steadied and shifted out to continue going forward when disappointed for running inside SMART WIN. Throughout the race, CHINA WORLD raced thee wide outside the lead and without cover. SMART WIN and EVEREST were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported EVEREST had shifted its right fore plate and was lame in that leg. Before being allowed to race again, EVEREST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
