Racing Incident Report

SIKANDER began awkwardly and stumbled. FIVE GRAINS was slow to begin. With the intention of being ridden with cover, ABLE KNIGHT got its head up on jumping and was then shifted across behind runners. In the early stages, ABLE ONE proved very difficult to settle. Near the 1400 Metres, SIKANDER got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of VICTORY STYLE. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, LOTZATOW was steadied away from the heels of ABLE ONE. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, ABLE KNIGHT got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of FIVE GRAINS. Near the 200 Metres, VICTORY STYLE was steadied when disappointed for running between HONEY MONEY and EQUATOR KID. Over the final 200 Metres, WEALTHY TREASURE was not able to obtain clear running behind RED POWER and inside BUMPER BUMPER. Because of this, WEALTHY TREASURE was not fully tested. Over the concluding stages, HONEY MONEY hung in. In the Straight, ABLE ONE hung in. Throughout the race, EQUATOR KID travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, Apprentice K L Chui (HONEY MONEY) said he had been instructed to go forward. He said shortly after the start he noted RED POWER being ridden along, he therefore allowed that horse to cross him and shift to the rail and then raced outside that horse at its girth. He said when the pace steadied near the 800 Metres, for him to have gone forward and cleared RED POWER would have in his opinion required him to make too much use of HONEY MONEY. SIKANDER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SIKANDER after the race did not show any significant findings. ABLE ONE and LOTZATOW were sent for sampling.
