Racing Incident Report
ELECTRONICS SPUR began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped LONDON EXPRESS. As a result of ELECTRONICS SPUR beginning awkwardly, S K Sit, its rider, became unbalanced, causing his right foot to shift in the stirrup which he rectified near the 1600 Metres. NORTHERNER was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, MEDICO was taken across behind runners. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, ELECTRONICS SPUR was checked away from the heels of LHOJONG. For some distance after straightening, ALL CHANCES was held up and unable to improve. After the 400 Metres, FRUITY FRUITY was checked when disappointed for running between SHABU SHABU and NORTHERNER which when held up and unable to obtain clear running shifted out. Near the 200 Metres, MEDICO got its head on the side and hung in. Over the concluding stages, FLYING TAMARI hung in. When questioned, B Prebble (LHOJONG) said his mount travelled keenly in the race that was run slower than he had anticipated. He said approaching the 800 Metres LHOJONG got its head up when close to the heels of SUPREME GAINS and was then inclined to lay out. He said after this LHOJONG travelled well and gave the impression that it would quicken when asked for an effort after straightening. He said rounding the Home Turn he was carried wider by SUPREME GAINS, then LHOJONG failed to respond to his riding as anticipated and in his opinion raced "flat" today. LHOJONG was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LHOJONG after the race did not show any significant findings. FLYING TAMARI and SUPREME GAINS were sent for sampling.
