Racing Incident Report
Shortly after the start, FANTASTIC GUY and SUPER SURPRISE were crowded for room between SEA TREASURE and ELEPHANT DANCE which shifted out. With the intention of being ridden quietly from the outside barrier, ABLE KNIGHT was steadied in the early stages and taken across behind runners. In the early stages, MASTER MASTER was taken across behind runners. Also in the early stages, despite being hard ridden, BARRACUDA failed to muster speed and travelled wide and without cover. Near the 1800 Metres, DANABAA was hampered and carried wider by SAMBUOYANT (Y T Cheng) which after being hard ridden to go forward was steadied and shifted out abruptly away from the heels of LIVERBIRD which steadied after crossing to the fence when clear. Shortly after this, FANTASTIC GUY, which had improved inside the heels of BIG WINNER (C K Tong), was checked when that horse shifted in when not clear after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANABAA. Y T Cheng was told he would be expected to ride in a manner which showed greater consideration to his fellow riders. C K Tong was told he would also be expected to make a greater effort to protect his fellow riders. After the 1000 Metres, HAPPY HEROES was steadied and shifted in away from the heels of SEA TREASURE which at this time was steadied away from the heels of SUPER SURPRISE. At the 700 Metres, SEA TREASURE was carried wider by HAPPY HEROES which shifted out. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, LIVERBIRD hung out and shifted wider on the track. When LIVERBIRD hung out, FANTASTIC GUY, which commenced to shift towards its outside in an endeavour to obtain clear running, was steadied and shifted out further. DANABAA was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. BARRACUDA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DANABAA and BARRACUDA after the race did not show any significant findings. FANTASTIC GUY and WONG’S SUCCESS were sent for sampling.
