Racing Incident Report

FILEBO, ABLE STANDARD and SILVER WRAITH were slow to begin. With the intention of not being ridden to go forward, UNIVERSAL PIONEER travelled in a midfield position. In the early stages, PALIO KING and MACAROON were taken back. Near the 1300 Metres, SIMPLY JOY was checked when crowded for room between ABLE STANDARD and WITHALLMYHEART which was carried in by GLOBE RIVER (G Boss) which after initially being shifted in then shifted in further despite the efforts of its rider. In this incident, inconvenience was also caused to ABLE STANDARD which became unbalanced. In the circumstances, the Stewards were satisfied G Boss had endeavoured to straighten his mount and therefore no action was taken. Passing the 1200 Metres, ABLE STANDARD got its head up when being steadied to obtain a position behind FAST WINNER. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, SIMPLY JOY was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of GLOBE RIVER. Approaching the 300 Metres, FILEBO was shifted to the inside of GLOBE RIVER to continue going forward. After the 300 Metres, GLOBE RIVER broke down in its left front fetlock and was eased out of the race. Passing the 200 Metres, FAST WINNER shifted in while hanging. This caused some inconvenience to WATCHMAN. At the 100 Metres, PALIO KING was steadied when awkwardly placed between UNIVERSAL PIONEER and RAMPANT LION. E Saint-Martin (NAMJONG SKY) said he had been instructed from a wide barrier to ride the horse quietly and endeavour to have it finish its race off. He said NAMJONG SKY was today stepping up in distance to 1400 Metres. He said to ensure NAMJONG SKY would settle to enable it to run out the distance of today’s race, the blinkers had been removed from the horse. He said when ridden quietly NAMJONG SKY closed the race off satisfactorily. P H Lo (WITHALLMYHEART) said his mount travelled well until after entering the Home Straight. He said when placed under pressure at the 300 Metres WITHALLMYHEART failed to quicken and kept on only one-paced, then over the concluding stages gave ground. SIMPLY JOY and WITHALLMYHEART were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SIMPLY JOY and WITHALLMYHEART after the race did not show any significant findings. ABLE STANDARD, SILVER WRAITH and FILEBO were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported SILVER WRAITH had lost its left front plate.
