Racing Incident Report
ALPHA HEDGE began awkwardly, shifted out on jumping and bumped STAR SUPERIOR which became unbalanced.
LIGHTNING STEED began awkwardly.
Passing the 400 Metres, STAR SUPERIOR raced tight outside COMPLACENCY.
Passing the 300 Metres, HAPPY TOUR and SUPER EIGHTEEN raced tight. After this, SUPER EIGHTEEN got its head on the side, lay in and proved difficult to ride.
After the race, Apprentice C Wong (SUPER EIGHTEEN) said that he was not able to offer any explanation for the horse’s performance other than its inclination to lay in had made it difficult for him to properly test it. A veterinary inspection of SUPER EIGHTEEN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SUPER EIGHTEEN, TRIUMPHANT JEWEL and VICTORY POWER were sent for sampling.
