Racing Incident Report

Just prior to being loaded into the barriers, GORGEOUS VITALITY threw its head back and in doing so struck its rider, Z Purton, on the nose. This resulted in the start being delayed for some time as Z Purton received medical attention. Those horses, which had been loaded into the barriers prior to the incident, were removed from the barriers whilst Z Purton was treated.
BLUSTITCH shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of VIVA MAMA (K Teetan). After the race, K Teetan reported that VIVA MAMA did not feel comfortable in its action in the early stages and it was not until after the 800 Metres when VIVA MAMA changed lead legs that the horse travelled more comfortably. A veterinary inspection of VIVA MAMA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SERGEANT PEPPER began only fairly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of INFINITY WIN.
FABULOUS EIGHT and RACING FIGHTER were crowded for room on jumping between CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN and YELLOWFIN which shifted in.
From the outside barrier, MOMENTUM GALAXY was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Approaching the 600 Metres, INFINITY WIN got its head on the side and lay in away from CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN, resulting in INFINITY WIN being very awkwardly placed outside the heels of BLUSTITCH.
SERGEANT PEPPER got its head up and made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly.
Near the 500 Metres, BLUSTITCH raced tight inside CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN which got its head on the side and lay in away from YELLOWFIN.
Passing the 300 Metres, STRIVE FOR GLORY was shifted to the inside of CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN to obtain clear running. STRIVE FOR GLORY was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of COLOURFUL PRINCE passing the 200 Metres when improving into tight running between that horse and CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN.
Passing the 150 Metres, MOMENTUM GALAXY was directed to the inside of SERGEANT PEPPER to continue improving. When MOMENTUM GALAXY shifted in, BLUSTITCH raced tight inside that horse passing the 100 Metres.
INFINITY WIN was unable to obtain clear running over about the final 125 Metres and because of this was not able to be properly tested.
Throughout the race, COLOURFUL PRINCE and FABULOUS EIGHT travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of SERGEANT PEPPER and INFINITY WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GORGEOUS VITALITY and YELLOWFIN were sent for sampling.
<2/6/2022 Additional Veterinary Reports>INFINITY WIN, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. INFINITY WIN was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D A Hayes this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, INFINITY WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
