Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the track, CORDYCEPS ONE, which had sustained an abrasion to its left hip when being transported to Happy Valley, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
CORDYCEPS ONE, which was leaning in the outside of its gate, began awkwardly and then became unbalanced when bumped by FEARLESS FIRE which shifted in.
SUPER HORNET and FLYING SILVER brushed on jumping. After this, SUPER HORNET was steadied to obtain cover.
CONCERTO began awkwardly and lost ground.
From the outside barriers, AMAZING BOY, V CHEVALIERS and REACH GOAL were all shifted across behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail shortly after the start.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, AMAZING BOY was steadied away from the heels of V CHEVALIERS when being shifted across behind that horse to obtain cover.
Near the 1300 Metres, REACH GOAL got its head on the side and shifted out across the heels of AMAZING BOY.
Approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, FEARLESS FIRE commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of FREE FOAL. After this, FEARLESS FIRE continued to prove difficult to settle in the middle stages.
After the 850 Metres, FLYING SILVER raced wide and without cover.
Approaching and passing the 600 Metres, V CHEVALIERS and FEARLESS FIRE raced tight as V CHEVALIERS improved forward of FEARLESS FIRE as that horse attempted to improve to the outside of FREE FOAL.
Passing the 300 Metres, SUPER HORNET got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.
K C Leung, the rider of REACH GOAL, was reminded of his obligations in respect of using the whip on a horse which is not in contention of placing.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER HORNET immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
AMIGOS GIGGLE, EXCEPTIONAL NICE and MY INTELLIGENT were sent for sampling.
