Racing Incident Report

1 2 LEAN HERO (G402) Was sent for sampling post-race.
2 7 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 600 Metres was bumped by GOODBAN BANBANBANG which made the turn awkwardly and shifted out. When questioned regarding his riding from the 600 Metres, Z Purton stated that after being bumped by GOODBAN BANBANBANG, his mount was then positioned behind PRINCE ALEX near the 600 Metres. He said when FASTPASS hung out and PRINCE ALEX was taken out by SURE JOYFUL at the 500 Metres, he was then reluctant to proceed to the outside as this may have resulted in TURIN WARRIOR being held up for clear running. He added as a result he remained racing behind PRINCE ALEX until approaching the 350 Metres when he obtained clear running to the outside of that horse. The Stewards found the tactics adopted were reasonable in the circumstances. Was sent for sampling post-race.

4 1 ROYAL PRIDE (E351) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

7 4 CASA COSMO (G436) Shortly after the start was crowded between ROYAL PRIDE and FASTPASS.
8 3 RED HARE KING (H188) Approaching the 1400 Metres was steadied away from GOODBAN BANBANBANG.
9 12 UNITED ENDEAVORS (G030) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 8 SUPERB MOVE (G304) After the race, L Hewitson advised that his instructions, from a wide barrier, were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said although SUPERB MOVE commenced well tonight, to comply with his instructions, he restrained his mount in the early stages in an attempt to find cover. He said after being caught wide and without cover in the early stages, he was obliged to come further back and race at the rear of the field to avoid covering additional ground. Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 5 GOODBAN BANBANBANG (G432) Approaching the 1400 Metres was steadied away from SURE JOYFUL which was being eased to allow FASTPASS to cross. K De Melo was warned for using the whip on the horse which was out of contention. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 11 FASTPASS (H040) Was crowded at the start. After the race, H T Mo stated that his mount hung out throughout the event and made the Home Turn wide before weakening in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance and racing manners of FASTPASS were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FASTPASS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend in Hong Kong and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
