Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
5 SUPER CONTENTED (H251) Checked when crowded shortly after the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 REGENCY HAPPY STAR (H248) Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 MEDIC ELITE (G129) Jumped only fairly. After the race, C L Chau reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse conservatively in the early stages as they had anticipated the race to be run at a good early tempo. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions issued.
7 MILLENNIUM FALCON (D281) Ran out at the start despite the efforts of its rider, made contact with VIVA A LA and became unbalanced. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance leaving the 1200 Metres got its head up.
1 CORDYCEPS ONE (E107) Jumped awkwardly. Z Purton was interviewed regarding his riding out of CORDYCEPS ONE over the final 200 Metres. He said after riding his mount along after the 200 Metres, he felt that CORDYCEPS ONE was not responding to his forehand whip use and as a result he then changed to a backhand grip inside the 100 Metres whereby he then continued to ride his mount out to the finish of the race. Whilst the Stewards accepted that near the 100 Metres he had changed the manner in which he held his whip, Z Purton was advised, wherever possible, he must ensure that he fully rides his mounts out approaching the end of the race.
3 GET THE MONIES (G168) Near the 1100 Metres was steadied away from VIVA A LA.
8 BROTHER PEARL (H030) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
11 CHIRON (E151) No report.
10 VIVA A LA (G282) Badly crowded on jumping. After the race, A Badel reported that his mount over-raced in the early stages. He said near the 1100 Metres VIVA A LA shifted to a three wide position and was allowed to stride forward where it obtained a position outside the lead near the 700 Metres and as a result was left without a finishing effort. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have blood in its mouth.
2 CHARMANDER (G437) Jumped only fairly. After the race, C Y Ho reported that from a wide barrier he settled back in the field and from that position, with the pace being run outside of standard through the early and middle stages, CHARMANDER found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <14/12/2023 Additional Veterinary Reports> CHARMANDER, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. CHARMANDER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Richards this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CHARMANDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
4 AMAZING TRAVIS (H132) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 PERFECT ROCK (G175) No report.
