Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
9 EIGHTEEN PALMS (H033) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) Sent for sampling post-race.
5 ALL BEAUTY (E355) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Making the Home Turn was held up behind ROCKET SPADE before shifting to that runner’s inside near the 300 Metres to secure clear running.
8 AESTHETICISM (H289) Jumped awkwardly.
4 LUCKY EIGHT (G204) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
12 ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342) No report.
10 U S S CONSTITUTION (H357) No report.
11 D STAR (G374) Prior to declaring weighed-in, the Stewards considered as to whether D STAR had been afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from Apprentice Y L Chung and Starter, Mr A Speechley, the Stewards found that just prior to the start being effected D STAR turned its head to the outside and as a consequence was slow to begin. As the Stewards were satisfied that D STAR turned its head to the outside just prior to the start being effected and was not being prevented from jumping by a starting gate handler, the horse had been afforded a fair start and was declared a runner. Before being allowed to race again, D STAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
2 ROCKET SPADE (G170) After the race, L Hewitson could offer no explanation for his mount’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 SIXTH GENERATION (G120) Jumped only fairly. When giving ground near the 200 Metres raced tight to the inside of EIGHTEEN PALMS which lay in. After the race, M Chadwick reported that with the early stages of the race run outside of standard time, SIXTH GENERATION raced keenly. He said as a result he allowed SIXTH GENERATION to stride forward where it obtained the lead near the 600 Metres but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 LOYAL BABY (E130) Bumped at the start. Near the 150 Metres shifted in abruptly, resulting in its rider A Hamelin having to stop riding and straighten his mount. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 EASON (G061) Bumped at the start.
