1 3 COLONEL (D090) Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider L Ferraris having to stop riding and change his whip to his right hand approaching the winning post. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 7 YOUNG HORIZON (G272) Shortly after the start was crowded by COLONEL which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Making the first turn raced tight to the inside of NOIR RIDER. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 10 VIVA A LA (G282) Jumped only fairly and then raced in restricted room to the inside of WIND SPEEDER for some distance shortly after the start. Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of COLONEL which shifted in before being corrected by its rider L Ferraris.
4 2 WIND SPEEDER (E281) No report.
5 12 NOIR RIDER (E138) In the early stages lay in.
6 1 RATTAN WORLD (G384) After the race, A Hamelin could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance which was under pressure from the 500 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 9 H Z TOURBILLON (E149) Jumped awkwardly and then from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
8 6 NORDIC COMBINED (G015) Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start. Approaching the 250 Metres was disappointed for clear running to the inside of SONIC BOOM which shifted in slightly. Was then shifted out where it secured clear running approaching the 200 Metres. Approaching the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of DAILY TROPHY to secure clear running. After the race, Z Purton reported that his mount was not suited by the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time which resulted in NORDIC COMBINED having difficulty making up ground from back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 11 DEVIL AND GOLD (G443) Near the 400 Metres lay in, made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a small abrasion to its left hind fetlock. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 5 DAILY TROPHY (H283) No report.
11 4 SONIC BOOM (H144) Shortly after the start was crowded by DAILY TROPHY which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. Was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
12 8 GENERAL ACE (G425) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1000 Metres lay in and was steadied when it was placed close to the heels of SONIC BOOM. After the race, K De Melo could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GENERAL ACE was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, GENERAL ACE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
