COMMENTS AND PROSPECT:
HINCHINBROOK, by FASTNET ROCK, was half-brother of SNITZEL, and trained by Gerald Ryan notching 2 wins, 1 second and 6 thirds in 14 attempts. He won the G3 Skyline Stakes in 2YO and placed 4th in the Golden Slipper with Darren Beadman on board while Brett Prebble's CRYSTAL LILY lifted that trophy. He didn't score in 3YO but performed stably as a place-getter in several G1 including Oakleigh Plate, William Reid Stakes and All Aged Stakes. He started his stud duties in 2011 and became the champion first crop sire in 2014 and in 2015. Atkins Stakes and Caulfield Guineas winner PRESS STATEMENT was his representative, along with HK sprinter BEAT THE CLOCK. HINCHINBROOK was an up-coming stallion, but, unfortunately, passed away in July 2018 because of foot injury at age 10.
JUMBO LEGEND was purchased by George Moore at AUD$ 360,000 as a yearling. He was trained by Moore’s family and took part in three barrier trials in Australia where he finished 4th in a synthetic session by coming from rear then placed 3rd in a 900M session with sheepskin cheek pieces by racing handy. Half-brother BE-FABULOUS recorded 2 wins at 1200M and former John Moore-trained STERLING CITY is his family member. The Australian import should be a sprinter and soft going is fine as a grandson of DESERT KING.
