COMMENTS AND PROSPECT:
LEMON DROP KID was sold at USD$ 200,000 as a yearling in 1997 Keeneland yearling sale. He was trained by Flint Schulhofer with a record of 10 wins, 3 seconds and 3 thirds in 24 starts, winning distance from 1200M to 2400M. The colt yielded 5 G1 successes including Belmont Stakes in 1999 and selected as Eclipse Champion Older Male in 2000. The son of KINGMAMBO entered stud in 2001 at Lane's End Farm with more than 106 black type contest winner. After 20 years’ service as stallion, he retired from stud in 2021.
ENSUED was sold at EUR€ 260,000 in 2022 Arqana May 2yo Breeze Up Sale. He was owned by current owner in Great Britain and trained by James Fanshawe with 1 second and 1 third in 3 starts where he finished 3rd on his debut in a 1600M straight race by coming from the back that 6Ls behind HM The King & HM The Queen’s CIRCLE OF FIRE at Salisbury, then he made his way to polytrack event at age 3 where he finished 2nd in a 1609M polytrack event at Kempton that denied by HM The King & HM The Queen’s SLIPOFTHEPEN who made frame in listed contest afterwards. Half-brother COLOSSEO was 1st runner up of Poule d'Essai des Poulains. Same sire runners in HK were only ordinary while the bay gelding should be most suited over mile or further that turf is fine and dirt is preferable.
