COMMENTS AND PROSPECT:
SEA THE MOON was trained by Markus Klug in Germany with a record of 4 wins and 1 second in 5 starts, winning distance from 1600M to 2400M including the 145th Deutsches Derby with Christophe Soumillon on board that 11L pull away from LUCKY LION who notched G1 Grosser Dallmayr Preis-Bayerisches Zuchtrennen afterwards. He finished 2nd in G1 Grosser Preis von Baden on his return after the break but that defeat made no impact to put him as 2014 Germany Horse of the Year. The 2023 champion stallion of Germany is the first son of SEA THE STAR to be a stud and now stationed at Lanwades Stud, UK with 32 black type contest winner including Deutsches Derby hero FANTASTIC MOON and Coronation Stakes champion ALPINE STAR. His fee in 2024 is GBP£ 32,500.
SOLEIL FIGHTER was trained by Richard Hughes in Great Britain with 2 wins, 1 second and 1 third in 6 starts. He was 5L behind U S S CONSTITUTION on his debut in a 1400M event to finish 3rd at Ascot and won a 1433M tapeta event at Wolverhampton afterwards. He made his way back on turf at age 3 and just failed in a 1600M event that denied by THE STORM at Newmarket (Rowley) and won a 1800M event by settled midfield and quickened after straightening to keep on well to the line. Most same sire runners prefer middle distance or stayer. The British import from America pedigree should be fine to handle a mile while soft going and dirt are fine.
