DEEP FIELD, the son of NORTHERN METEOR, was trained by Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes with a record of 5 wins, 1 second and 1 third in 8 starts while he got first five wins in a row until placing 3rd in G1 Lightning Stakes. Although he is only a G2 winner, he is welcomed by the breeders since his sire passed away and he is known as precocious with great speed. 28 runners of him won the black type contests including 2021 Hong Kong Sprint winner SKY FIELD, two times South African G1 winner AL MUTHANA, G1 Oakleigh Plate champion PORTLAND SKY and 2023 The BMW Hong Kong Derby hero VOYAGE BUBBLE. Newgate Farm had announced that DEEP FIELD has been retired from stallion in 2023.
TEAM HAPPY was trained by Brett Cavanough in Australia and took part in 2 barrier trials where he finished 3rd in a 800M session (12th Jul 2023) by racing handy on soft going, then sat handy early and dashed well to win an 800M session (17th Aug 2023) under whip with blinkers on soft going. Half-brother FLYING LOVER won over 1200M on dirt in HK and some could also win sprint/middle-distance contests. The grandson of THORN PARK should be most suited at mile or under in distance while dirt and Happy Valley are fine.
