COMMENTS AND PROSPECT:
MANHATTAN RAIN was trained by Gai Waterhouse with a record of 2 wins, 3 seconds and 4 thirds in 11 starts, winning distance at 1200M and 1400M including G1 AJC Sires' Produce Stakes and placing 3rd in Golden Slipper. He made limited progress at the age of 3 while he was 1st runner up in Cox Plate, just beaten by SO YOU THINK. As a half-brother of REDOUTE'S CHOICE, he caught the eye of the breeders with 18 black type contests winners including winner of Golden Slipper and A J Moir Stakes SHE WILL REIGN and Champion Middle Distance Horse in South Africa in 2016-17, WHISKY BARON are the representative. The colt now stands at Geisel Park Stud, WA and his fee in 2024 is AUD$ 8,250.
MOON ROCKET was trained by Nicholas Ryan in Australia at the beginning and collected 1 win and 1 second in 5 jump-out sections. He transferred to Bill Papazaharoudakis’ yard afterwards and got a win and second in 2 synthetic jump-out sections. There is only few MANHATTAN RAIN’s racing in HK since the colt stationed at WA. His dam RIVERINA’S GIRL collected 5 wins at 1200M and 1300M while his foal could handle up to 2100M and quite a few family members ran on well in stayer events including former Sydney Cup winner KNIGHTS ORDER. The bay gelding should be fine to stretch out to 1600M after becoming mature and fine on both turf and dirt.
