Alexis Pouchin hails from a strong racing background. His father works as travelling head lad for legendary trainer Andre Fabre, and Pouchin, who is widely regarded as French racing’s next big star, grew up living in the stables at Chantilly until he was seven. Initially apprenticed to Yohann Gouraud, Pouchin then switched to Fabre’s yard and swiftly rode 82 wins to lose his allowance. Pouchin’s first winner came atop Paco Keed at Maisons Laffitte on 1 November, 2016. Overall, Pouchin has in excess of 400 wins. He’s renowned for his association with the five-time Group 1-winning Mqse De Sevigne. He also has big wins aboard Vertical Blue, Metropolitan, Haya Zark and Simca Mille.
