Racing Incident Report

SWEET VICTORY was slowly away. Near the 800 Metres, WINNING STAR and NINGBO WARRIOR were momentarily tight inside GO GO WIN. Also near the 800 Metres, SWEET VICTORY was steadied when awkwardly placed between STORM BOY and UNIVERSAL BOSS. On the latter part of the Home Turn, RED COMMANDER shifted out and made contact with SPLENDID BO BO. When questioned, C Williams (HAPPY TYCOON) said that he had been instructed by the Trainer to give the horse a strong preliminary and make sure he kept it on the move behind the gates. He was also instructed to try and make sure that HAPPY TYCOON began well and then if necessary ride along to get the horse on the bit, try and take up a position somewhere around midfield. He said that HAPPY TYCOON jumped much better than expected immediately started to travel and because of the pace at which the race was being run he felt that it was in the best interest of HAPPY TYCOON today despite the instructions he had been given to allow the horse to run along in front. He went on to say that over the concluding stages HAPPY TYCCON weakened out of the race and added in his opinion the horse did not handle today's track conditions. The explanations submitted by C Williams were accepted. After the race it was noted that PLENTY SUCCESS had lost its off side front plate. STORM BOY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
