Racing Incident Report
Just as the gates opened, HIGH SPIRITS put its head down, then bounded in the air and came out very awkwardly. As a consequence of this, HIGH SPIRITS lost considerable ground, settled down in the race in a rearward position, then when improving in the middle stages was obliged to race wide. SEATTLE SUN left the gates with its head up, was further inconvenienced when tightened between MAJESTIC WARRIOR and HIGH SKY, both of which shifted some ground. When being steadied in the early stages, HIGH SKY had a tendency to throw its head about. On several occasions after the 1000 Metres, VIPER CORP and DRAGON POWER brushed as each runner endeavoured to find a position behind HIGH SPIRITS. Near the 700 Metres, VIPER CORP was steadied to avoid the heels of DRAGON POWER which shifted in to be racing behind HIGH SPIRITS and tight outside RAINBOW AND GOLD. About the 400 Metres, VIPER CORP was momentarily awkward between the hindquarters of DRAGON POWER and TEMMOKU. After the 400 Metres, HIGH SKY was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between DRAGON POWER and VIPER CORP. About the 200 Metres, OPTICAL FAMILY was steadied when disappointed for running between HIGH SPIRITS and RAINBOW AND GOLD. After the 200 Metres, MAJESTIC WARRIOR, which was giving ground, was steadied when crowded by MASTER MAGIC which was taken in slightly by ZIETENGO BOY which itself was taken in by HIGH SPIRITS. In the run to the winning post, RAINBOW AND GOLD shifted out towards OPTICAL FAMILY which shifted out, this caused some inconvenience to HIGH SKY. HIGH SPIRITS was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
