Racing Incident Report
FLEETING TIME, which was not standing well, left the gates very awkwardly. BACK SEAT DRIVER jumped awkwardly and was further inconvenienced when crowded between SMILING FOREST and ASIAN EXPRESS which on jumping had its head in the air and momentarily shifted in abruptly. The crowding to BEAT SEAT DRIVER was in the opinion of the Stewards accidental. On jumping, CLEMENT FORTUNE threw its head about. In the early and middle stages, ILIKETOSMILE hung in, about the 500 Metres shifted out abruptly, this caused inconvenience to CLEMENT FORTUNE and obliged that horse to race considerably wider. Over the concluding stages, ILIKETOSMILE dropped right out and was eased down. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said that ILIKETOSMILE was showing signs of having a heart irregularity. Before the horse can race again, it will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. About 100 Metres out, I WIN, which had raced greenly throughout and was finding the line satisfactorily, was steadied and shifted in to avoid ASIAN EXPRESS. SMILING FOREST was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
