Racing Incident Report
On jumping, MADE TO FIGURE was crowded for room between MAN OF HONOUR which shifted in slightly and CITIZEN KANE which on jumping shifted out abruptly. SUN SHINE RIVER was slowly away. In the early stages, CLIFFHANGER had a tendency to over-race and throw its head about. When questioned, Apprentice Y T Cheng (MAN OF HONOUR) said before the race he was instructed if the horse began well to go forward, but if not he could decide to ride the horse quieter. He said it was anticipated that CITIZEN KANE would lead and when MAN OF HONOUR jumped awkwardly with its head up he decided it was in the best interests of MAN OF HONOUR to give the horse a chance in the race. He said he was able to find cover behind BEST OF THE BEST in the run and did anticipate with the speed that the horse has it might take him into the race. He said in the Straight when he shifted MAN OF HONOUR into the clear and put it under full pressure did not respond as anticipated and in his opinion was inclined to be racing "flat". MAN OF HONOUR was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
