Racing Incident Report
On jumping, STOIC bounded in the air and threw its head about. About the 1000 Metres, STOIC was steadied when awkwardly placed just inside the hindquarters of MANY HAPPY RETURNS. About the 500 Metres, STOIC was steadied when disappointed for running inside SCENIC WONDER. Then at no stage in the Straight did STOIC obtain clear running and as a consequence the horse was not properly tested out. Near the winning post the first time, SILENT PARTNER was steadied when disappointed for running between SCENIC WONDER and MENTOR which was racing tight inside GOOD NEWS. Then in the early stages, GOOD NEWS, which had drawn a difficult gate, continued to race wide and without any cover. Turning out of the Straight the first time, SCENIC WONDER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALL WIN. Near the 400 Metres, MANY HAPPY RETURNS shifted out abruptly across the heels of SILENT PARTNER to go forward. Over about the last 200 Metres, SCENIC WONDER did not obtain running. The horse was initially held up behind GOOD NEWS and then DELIGHTFUL SPECIAL. S King (SCENIC WONDER) said about the 200 Metres he momentarily looked to his inside in an endeavour to find running but was unable to do so.
