Racing Incident Report

GREENMORE was slowly away. On jumping, HONG KONG VITALITY and SILENT PARTNER came together. About 100 Metres out, LEGITIMATE was checked to avoid CENTURY HORSE (A Marcus) which shifted out when being ridden out with the whip. A Marcus was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten. After the 100 Metres, SILENT PARTNER shifted out slightly away from CENTURY HORSE which was continuing to shift ground. When SILENT PARTNER shifted out, it made contact with GREENMORE which in turn shifted out and bumped ABLE WIN. As a consequence of these incidents, GREENMORE was not ridden out right to the line. Approaching the winning post, SCENIC WONDER was steadied and shifted in to avoid CENTURY HORSE. In the run to the winning post, SCENIC WONDER was inclined to get out close to the hindquarters of CENTURY HORSE. Because of this, SCENIC WONDER was not ridden right out to the line as it normally would be. When asked about the disappointing performance of VIPER CORP, S King said the horse had been working satisfactorily and it was anticipated it would run competitively tonight. He said he had been asked to ride VIPER CORP quietly and anticipated the horse would close off well. He said VIPER CORP only travelled as he thought it should in the early stages and although obliged to race wide, VIPER CORP was well beaten a long way out and over the concluding stages was very disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, VIPER CORP will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. VIPER CORP and BOBO DUCK were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
