Racing Incident Report

E Legrix was dislodged from WINNING LAURELS in the Parade Ring. He was examined by the Club's doctor and stood down from riding WINNING LAURELS and from his other rides on the day. Permission was given for Y T Cheng to be substituted as the rider of WINNING LAURELS. On entering the track, Apprentice S K Sit was dislodged from WINNING BOSS. The horse was quickly caught by attendants and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After being boxed, VILLAGER became fractious and had a hind leg caught over the back gates. After being released, VILLAGER was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and on his advice the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, VILLAGER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. ANABATIK left the gates awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. THE DUKE was slowly away. HOWSON left the gates awkwardly with its head up and just after the start shifted out and bumped WYNDAM EASY which was carried across the heels of ANABATIK. WINNING BOSS came out awkwardly and bumped the outside of its stall. AMERICAN DEVIL left the gates awkwardly, shifted out and bumped HIDDEN DRAGON. Throughout the event, HIDDEN DRAGON raced greenly and on occasions got its head up, and AMERICAN DEVIL raced greenly. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said he noted blood in the mouth of CHERISHED, however, he was unable to find any significant injuries.
