Racing Incident Report

TEAM WIN was withdrawn on 21.5.04 on veterinary grounds (right fore tendon injury) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SOARING ANGEL (K S Yu). Before being allowed to race again, TEAM WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When leaving the Parade Ring, BIG WINNER became very fractious and made heavy contact with the running rail, resulting in Apprentice K H Chan, its rider, being dislodged. Acting on the veterinary advice that BIG WINNER was not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse. Before being allowed to race again, BIG WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WAIALAE WIN was slow to begin. LUCKY DICE and SHERIFF BAMBOO began awkwardly. UNIVERSAL GLORY began awkwardly and shortly afterwards was crowded for room between NEW MILESTONE and PRODIGY, both of which shifted ground. In the early stages, KIWI DASH proved difficult to settle and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LONGMARK. Throughout the race, SOARING ANGEL raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. After the race, D Whyte (LUCKY DICE) reported the horse was not striding out freely. LUCKY DICE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY DICE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WADADELIGHT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of WADADELIGHT after the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING SMILE and NEW MILESTONE were sent for sampling.
