Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, JADE RUYI bounded in the air and then lost further ground when crowded for room between KINGSTON GLORY and LOK WAH TREASURE, both of which shifted ground. ON THE TEE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped KING OF TURBOT. ON THE TEE was then ridden along but failed to muster speed. Near the 1400 Metres, KING OF TURBOT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CAPABEL after being carried in by CITY GLORY (Apprentice K W Tsui) which shifted ground. Apprentice Tsui was told to exercise greater care. Near the 700 Metres, LOK WAH TREASURE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MAESTRO. After the 300 Metres, RED FIREBALL was carried wider by LOK WAH TREASURE which shifted out. S Dye (DYNAMIC COMBO) and M Rodd (FIRST ON) reported their horses' poor performance was due to them failing to handle today's soft track conditions. WINNING WAYS and FIRST ON were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WINNING WAYS and FIRST ON after the race did not show any significant findings. MYTHIC STEED, KING OF TURBOT and LOK WAH TREASURE were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported that MAESTRO had bled from both nostrils.
