Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, GOLD SANDFIELD stood flat-footed and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, GOLD SANDFIELD will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. DANSKE VERY MUCH began awkwardly and threw its head about. Apprentice C K Tong (CHAMP DRAGON) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of WINNING PARADE, causing that horse to lose its running and be severely checked. In the circumstances of this case, the Stewards believed the appropriate penalty was for Apprentice Tong's licence to ride in races to be suspended for a period to expire on Thursday 30 June 2005 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). This suspension is to commence with immediate effect. Also near the 1300 Metres, FUJIAN PRINCE was bumped by JOIN VICTORY which shifted in. Near the 1200 Metres, LASER GLORY got its head up when close to the heels of THE COLLECTOR. Prior to straightening, QUICK NEWS was steadied when awkwardly placed between JOIN VICTORY and JOYFUL WORLD which at this time shifted in slightly when being steadied away from the heels of FUJIAN PRINCE which also shifted in slightly. Over the concluding stages, CHAMP DRAGON hung in. Throughout the race, TELECOM SUPERBOSS raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. TELECOM SUPERBOSS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, TELECOM SUPERBOSS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM SUPERBOSS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MASTER SPIRIT and CHAMP DRAGON were sent for sampling.
