Racing Incident Report
ALL OUR WAY was withdrawn on 15.9.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NAVIGATE UNICORN (M Rodd). Before being allowed to race again, ALL OUR WAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BIG WINNER was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded for room between SOLAR POWER and HIGH PRICE which on jumping shifted out. SIMPLY THE BEST began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ABLE MARS. FAST TRACK was slow to begin. After the 1200 Metres, HIGH PRICE was steadied away from the heels of ATHLETIC GOLD which shifted in when barely clear. Near the 800 Metres, SIMPLY THE BEST was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between ATHLETIC GOLD and ABLE MARS. After straightening, CLEAN SWEEP was steadied and shifted to the outside of ABLE MARS into clear running. For the major part of the race, NAVIGATE UNICORN hung out badly and proved difficult to ride, then before the 200 Metres when placed under pressure shifted in abruptly. The performance of NAVIGATE UNICORN was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, NAVIGATE UNICORN will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. Throughout the race, SOUND OF SILENCE raced in a forward position, however was three wide without cover. ATHLETIC GOLD and HIGH PRICE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ATHLETIC GOLD and HIGH PRICE after the race did not show any significant findings. CLEAN SWEEP and SOUND OF SILENCE were sent for sampling.
