Racing Incident Report
THE ONLY ONE and FINGERS CROSSED were slow to begin. NAMJONG GOODLUCK was a little slow to begin, then lost further ground when crowded for room between SPEED OF LIGHT and GLORIOUS RHYTHM, both of which shifted ground. At the 1500 Metres, FINGERS CROSSED was momentarily steadied away from the heels of ALL OUR WAY. Near the 1300 Metres, SUPER FANTASY became badly unbalanced when crowded for room between FANTASTIC WIN and FINGERS CROSSED which itself became badly unbalanced and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of NAMJONG GOODLUCK which itself was momentarily steadied when awkward on the heels of ALL OUR WAY. In the circumstances, no action was taken. In this incident, H K Yim, the rider of FINGERS CROSSED, lost the use of his left stirrup for a short distance. After the 1200 Metres, NAMJONG GOODLUCK was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of ALL OUR WAY. After the 1000 Metres, NAMJONG GOODLUCK became unbalanced when awkwardly placed inside the heels of SUPER FANTASY. Rounding the Home Turn, NAMJONG GOODLUCK was steadied and became unbalanced when THE ONLY ONE shifted in briefly. Passing the 100 Metres, SPEED OF LIGHT was steadied and shifted to the inside of MUTUAL GAIN to continue into clear running. Throughout the race, KA KA SMART travelled wide and without cover. R Fradd (NAMJONG GOODLUCK) said the horse throughout the race was reluctant to hold its position inside runners. He said at no stage did NAMJONG GOODLUCK travel, after receiving a bump on the Home Turn gave ground and was most disappointing. R Fradd said following the race he recommended to the trainer that consideration be given to adding blinkers to the gear of NAMJONG GOODLUCK. NAMJONG GOODLUCK was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of NAMJONG GOODLUCK after the race did not show any significant findings. ALL OUR WAY and SUPER FANTASY were sent for sampling.
