Racing Incident Report
ACCELERATION was slow to begin. FEBURO began awkwardly and lost ground. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, MIRACULOUS got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of CHEERFUL HAPPINESS (S Dye) which after crossing the lead steadied the tempo. S Dye was told to avoid slowing the tempo unduly, causing interference to following runners. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, DRAGON INN was steadied away from the heels of SUPER BONUS. At the 350 Metres, DRAGON INN was checked to avoid the heels of SUPER BONUS which was giving ground. At the 300 Metres, TOUCH DOWN, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted to the outside of FEBURO to go forward. Near the 200 Metres, FEBURO was shifted to the inside of CHARMING SPEEDY in an endeavour to find clear running, then over the concluding stages was steadied and not ridden out when unable to obtain clear running between CHARMING SPEEDY and MIRACLE DRAGON. STAR OF NORTHERN travelled wide and without cover for the majority of the race. The performance of SUPER BONUS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER BONUS will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUPER BONUS and STAR OF NORTHERN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER BONUS and STAR OF NORTHERN after the race did not show any significant findings. MIRACULOUS, CHEERFUL HAPPINESS and CHARMING SPEEDY were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported SUPER DRAGON was making an abnormal breathing noise.
