Racing Incident Report

NAUGHTY BOY and MAKE YOU JEALOUS were slow to begin. After the 900 Metres, NATURAL MODEL was steadied when crowded for room inside TIMBER CITY (Apprentice K W Tsui) which shifted in when not properly clear. Shortly after this, PEACH BLOSSOM was steadied away from the heels of TIMBER CITY which shifted in further when not properly clear. Apprentice Tsui was reprimanded and advised to exercise greater care. At the 800 Metres and again at the 700 Metres, CONSTELLATION, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied away from the heels of DR HAENSLER. Over the final 100 Metres, SUPER LUCK was held up and unable to obtain clear running and because of this was not ridden out to the line. Throughout the race, WIN FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, D Whyte (NATURAL MODEL) said over the concluding stages he was awkwardly placed inside WIN FORTUNE and outside the heels of TIMBER CITY. He said whilst he did continue to ride his mount out hands and heels to the line he was racing in restricted room. When questioned regarding the poor performance of WYNDAM PLENTY, Apprentice K T Yeung said his mount, which was racing on the All Weather Track for the first time tonight, travelled satisfactorily until prior to straightening. He said on straightening he placed his mount under pressure, WYNDAM PLENTY failed to respond and whilst it kept on in the early part of the Straight gave ground after the 300 Metres. He was unable to offer any explanation for the performance of the horse. WYNDAM PLENTY was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. PEACH BLOSSOM and DR HAENSLER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WYNDAM PLENTY, PEACH BLOSSOM and DR HAENSLER after the race did not show any significant findings. GOOD TRIO and TIMBER CITY were sent for sampling.
