Racing Incident Report

With the intention of being ridden with cover, DANEMAN HILL on jumping got its head up. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, GOLD DIGGER failed to muster speed and passing the winning post on the first occasion was steadied away from the heels of SUPER FANTASY. After the 1100 Metres, DANEMAN HILL got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of MY LANSON which itself was being steadied away from the heels of ARROGANCE. After this, DANEMAN HILL proved difficult to settle and was allowed to stride forward. Also MY LANSON continued to get its head up when being steadied away from the heels of ARROGANCE. In the early and middle stages, CHERISHED travelled wide and without cover. Prior to the 400 Metres and again at the 350 Metres, PIONERO steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of ARROGANCE. Shortly after straightening, MY LANSON was checked to avoid the heels of ARROGANCE which was giving ground. After this, MY LANSON had some difficulty obtaining clear running and at the 100 Metres bumped ARROGANCE when being shifted out to avoid the heels of MUTUAL GAIN which was giving ground. When questioned regarding the poor performance of FLAME POWER, O Doleuze said his mount was very fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall, causing him to become unbalanced in the saddle. He said because of this FLAME POWER raced further back than anticipated. He said the early stages of the race were not run at a quick tempo, however, the field quickened along the Back Straight and the final section of the race tonight was run significantly faster than when the horse made ground from a rearward position at its last start. He said tonight because of this FLAME POWER was not able to make ground in the run home. FLAME POWER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of FLAME POWER after the race did not show any significant findings. KINGSTON WINNER and PIONERO were sent for sampling.
