Racing Incident Report
DRAGON INN was slow to begin. At the 700 Metres, KOWLOON TREASURE became unbalanced after bumping with DANEPRINT while endeavouring to shift to the outside of MIRACLE DRAGON. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, DRAGON INN got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of KOWLOON TREASURE. In the middle stages, FANTASTIC WIN was left racing without cover. After the 200 Metres, NAMJONG GOODLUCK had some difficulty obtaining clear running between X-SPEED and CLASSIC KING. Approaching the winning post, NAMJONG GOODLUCK hung out. When questioned, O Doleuze (X-SPEED) said he was instructed if he was able to obtain an easy lead, he should do so; if not from the outside barrier he should endeavour to ride the horse in a position with cover. He said X-SPEED began well and he noticed OPTIC KING and ONLY YOU which were drawn to his inside were immediately ridden along to go forward. He said therefore he shifted across behind those horses in an endeavour to obtain a position with cover which he was able to do following CLASSIC KING. He said X-SPEED ran an improved race when ridden in this manner today. When questioned regarding the poor performance of CHARMING SPEEDY, D Whyte said the horse began awkwardly, then lost further ground when crowded for room between CLASSIC KING and NAMJONG GOODLUCK. He did say as a result of this he made some use of CHARMING SPEEDY in the early stages to make up ground, however, at no stage of the race did the horse feel comfortable in its action. He said when placed under pressure CHARMING SPEEDY did not quicken in the manner in which he had anticipated. CHARMING SPEEDY was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. ONLY YOU was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CHARMING SPEEDY and ONLY YOU after the race did not show any significant findings. NAMJONG GOODLUCK and FANTASTIC WIN were sent for sampling.
